Ribbon cutting scheduled for Wednedsay, October 15th at 9 AM.
Camden, NJ (October 9, 2014) –
PriceRite announced today that it will celebrate the opening of its newest store in Camden with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 9 AM. The first new grocery store to open in the city in nearly 40 years, the PriceRite of Camden will provide local residents with long-awaited access to fresh food at great prices.
While PriceRite stores have traditionally been a corporately owned brand, this new location will be owned by Ravitz Family Markets, which also plans to open a ShopRite store in Camden in 2016. The Ravitz family currently owns five ShopRite stores in Burlington and Camden Counties.
Scheduled to attend the grand opening and ribbon cutting event alongside the Ravitz family are Camden Mayor Dana L. Redd, Senator Donald Norcross, members of the City Council and several other local dignitaries.
Located at 2881 Mt. Ephraim Avenue, the 43,000 sq. ft, state-of-the-art PriceRite of Camden will bring more than 80 full- and part-time jobs to the community.
“My family and I are so pleased to be bringing a new PriceRite store to Camden and have been overwhelmed with the warm welcome and support we have received from the community,” said Jason Ravitz, vice president of retail operations for Ravitz Family Markets. “Partnering with the city to bring local residents not one but two brand new supermarkets is a tremendous privilege and we look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on the community.”
"It is an exciting moment for our City and our residents," Mayor Redd said. "This is the beginning of what I believe will be a lasting relationship with a strong community partner, Ravitz Family Markets. Our residents will certainly be impressed by the newly renovated store, not to mention the high quality and affordable products offered by PriceRite. Many thanks to Senator Donald Norcross for his support of this project. I also commend the Ravitz family on their commitment to hiring Camden residents. "
PriceRite’s mission is to provide customers with a “clean, fresh, and friendly” shopping experience every day. Also known for its unmatched value, PriceRite offers customers the same quality foods as traditional supermarkets at about half the price and with the convenience of warehouse club-style shopping without the membership fees or bulk-buying requirements.
PriceRite employs a self service format that includes fresh produce delivered daily; packaged meats; baked goods; a variety of private label and national grocery brands; as well as dairy and frozen food products.
The new store will also feature some of the industry’s leading “green technologies,” including glass doors on dairy cases, and energy-efficient lighting and refrigeration throughout the store.
To further reduce costs and pass along those savings to customers, PriceRite does not advertise or publish a weekly circular. Customers are encouraged to use their own bags or to buy them as needed for 10¢ each, which benefits the environment while containing costs. By focusing on keeping operating costs low, PriceRite is proud to pass significant savings along to its customers.
